More about the course commitments
There are three courses, and students can choose to take one, two, or all three.
Level One
This course teaches students how to be effective and proactive student helpers. There is an introduction to choreography that teaches how to build successful professional relationships with students. It also educates on the best way to help and be a useful participant at productions and shows. The commitment is 6 hours of study time in a classroom environment (split into four 1.5-hour lessons throughout the year), with the rest learnt practically through assisting weekly classes (Minimum 30 mins per week).
Level Two
This course teaches students the fundamentals of leadership, choreography, preparing for performances, and teaching choreography.
Level Three
The course is best suited for those 14+ to gain the most practical experience, as children will need a work permit, which is issued by the council for free.
Beyond these 3 levels
There is also another board who provide teacher programmes for 19-26 year olds for those who wish to take their journey further and join our school as fully fledged teacher.
