Performance and Progress go hand in hand

 

We believe dancers should be able to express their talent to a wide audience and not just in the confined space of a class room. Children and Adults are able to perform in pantomimes and festivals, competitions and Shows and charity events. Children are also invited to take part in medal tests where they receive feedback on their dance ability with suggestions for improvements for next year and they earn a medal award if they complete their medal test. Children are encouraged to dance as soloists, partnered work and in teams. We believe this not only makes them stronger performers, but also well rounded adults as they move out of their childhood and into the real world. It shows future employers they can stand alone or be a team player. Children who show good technique and natural leadership and nurturing ability are also invited to be student helpers in younger classes. We see the importance in young children being guided by their peers having someone to look up to and aspire to be like their role models, but also for older children to feel they have made a difference, to feel proud of themselves and they can also see their actions have a direct impact on a young mind.
