Parents, Students and Teachers as One Dance Family

Berkshire and Henley Dance was established in 2007 with one teacher and 3 classes. Since then the school has grown to 4 branches across Berkshire, Hampshire and Oxfordshire in Henley, Shiplake, Arborfield and Finchampstead. We pride ourselves on being a dance family, supporting and helping young children to grow in confidence and become technically talented dancers. Our classes are current and modern, with fresh ideas and contemporary styles in each genre. Our teachers are vibrant, enthusiastic and dance currently in the professional world too. We are proud to say hundreds of pupils have danced with us, loved us and grown as dancers and individuals.

Panto, Festivals, Competitions and Theatre Productions

We believe dancers should be able to express their talent to a wide audience and not just in the confined space of a class room. Children and Adults are able to perform in pantomimes and festivals, competitions and Shows and charity events. Children are also invited to take part in medal tests where they receive feedback on their dance ability with suggestions for improvements for next year and they earn a medal award if they complete their medal test. Children are encouraged to dance as soloists, partnered work and in teams. We believe this not only makes them stronger performers, but also well rounded adults as they move out of their childhood and into the real world. It shows future employers they can stand alone or be a team player.

AnOpportunity to growInspiring Young Minds and Making Parents ProudStudent Helpers

Children who show good technique, natural leadership and nurturing ability are also invited to be student helpers in younger classes. We see the importance in young children being guided by their peers. It gives younger pupils someone to look up to and aspire to be like their role models. This also benefits older children to feel they have made a difference, to feel proud of themselves and they can also see their actions have a direct impact on a young mind.
